Kelly LeBrock

I first saw Kelly LeBrock in LADY IN RED. I was smitten. Next was the movie that made her a sex symbol WEIRD SCIENCE. Not soon after she married Aikido Master Steven Seagal and starred with him in HARD TO KILL. She divorced Seagal when she found out about his affair with their childrens 18 year old nanny and had become his punching bag.

On April 6, at Minglewood Hall in Memphis, TN, Westside MMA ( will be well represented during the latter part of the evening when three of their fighters will be vying for titles.

Kenny Smith (4-0) will start it off when he challenges champion, Dekaire Sanders, for the middleweight title. The co-main event will see TJ Brown (8-0) challenging submission specialist, “Jesse” James Wallace for the vacant featherweight title. And in the main event, PJ Bonner (10-1) will fight Tyler Smith for the vacant welterweight title. All three fighters have the talent and ability take the titles home with them to Arkansas.

Westside MMA, one of the premier schools in the southeast region, is located in Little Rock, AR and coached by Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and UFC veteran, Roli Delgado. According to Delgado, “The whole team is working together right now to make sure we are ready to make as good of a run at these titles as possible. It’s an honor to have three fighters contending for a belt at once. Having three fighters fighting for a belt is definitely making a statement, but we intend to win all three and REALLY make a statement!! These are three tough guys looking forward to putting on a great show.”

The old saying goes, “iron sharpens iron,” and that statement is definitely the case over at Westside MMA. These three athletes have put in the time, and on April 6 they plan to showcase their skills in front of the V3 “Legion.”

This event will be aired on both Comcast Sports South and Aggression TV.

Blind Judo Foundation Funds Blind And Visually Impaired Judokas To 2013 Senior Visually Impaired International Masters Judo Championships in Virginia Beach, VA

Blind Judo Foundation Judokas benefit from participation in sanctioned Judo tournaments to gain experience, points, recognition, ranking and qualification to participate in national and international events on their journey in becoming an elite athlete and potential member of the US Paralympic Judo Team. Following are two such candidates on the 2016 road to Rio de Janeiro.

Two blind Judokas (Judo athletes), Christopher Jones and Michael Larsen will be representing their home Dojo, Cahill’s Judo Academy located in San Bruno, CA and the Blind Judo Foundation at the Masters International Visually Impaired Judo Championships in Virginia Beach, VA this April.
Michael Larsen is 33 years old and started Judo at the young age of 8. Mike was born visually impaired and at the early age of 6 started losing his hearing due to ear infections of which surgery could not resolve.
Mike was first introduced to Judo at his local YMCA. His first match was at a Braille Institute Judo Tournament and life has not been the same since. Judo has been his sanctuary helping him to build confidence and enhance his independence.
According to Mike, “being blind and deaf is an advantage on the mat because I can tune out all noise and distractions. I need to focus on my techniques.” He goes on to say “however, the disadvantage is being coached while on the mat” and not being able to hear the Coach.

Mike Larsen with his Guide Dog

Mike’s commitment to Judo is contagious. He is a ferocious competitor and is committed to his childhood dream of one day making the US Paralympic Judo Team and representing the USA on the world stage.
Another fierce and dedicated competitor that trains at Cahill’s Judo Academy is Christopher (Chris) Jones. Chris is a 27 year old visually impaired Judoka with sustained color blindness, nearsightedness and severe light sensitivity.
These inconveniences have not dampened Chris’ love and commitment to the sport of Judo. With only 5 years under his belt since starting Judo, Chris is dedicated, determined and oriented in becoming an elite member of the 2016 US Paralympic Judo Team.
These are admirable sights and starts with establishing a goal, creating a positive attitude and willingness to compete at sanctioned tournaments like the upcoming International Masters Judo Championships in Virginia Beach.
Training at Cahill’s Judo Academy, Chris rides a bus in the east-Bay of San Francisco to the BART Station which takes him to San Bruno in the west-Bay and then he walks approximately one mile to the Academy. Imagine the commitment to just get to and from Cahill's 2 – 3 times per week?
That’s what is called dedication and determination. Chris knows what it will take but also knows there is no guarantee of obtaining his 2016 Goal to represent America on the world stage in Rio de Janeiro.
The Blind Judo Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization committed to empowering the blind and visually impaired like Michael and Christopher through the sport of Judo. The Foundation introduces children, young adults along with our blind and visually impaired military men and women to the life inspiring sport of Judo.
You can help empower a blind individual and make difference in their life with your tax exempt donation. Any questions or to learn more please contact Ron C. Peck, CFO & Co-Founder at roncpeck(at)blindjudofoundation(dot)org or 425-444-8256

Top Ohio fighters Luke Zachrich and Dan Spohn set to headline “UVC 23: Invasion”

Ultimate Victory Challenge is thrilled to announce its main events for UVC 23: Invasion, as two of Ohio’s top fighters will return to the UVC cage once again to compete in the biggest event in UVC history. After headlining the last two UVC cards, Luke Zachrich and Dan Spohn will both fight at UVC 23 on May 10 in Columbus at the Aladdin Shrine Center.

“These are two fighters that the UVC has been lucky enough to have headline each of our last two cards,” UVC co-owner Rick Pyles said. “Now both guys will be on the same card, and we’re also planning to announce a remaining card that will blow fans out of the water. You’ll probably want to get tickets now, because we don’t expect many to be available at the door on May 10.”

Luke Zachrich

Luke Zachrich (11-2 / fighting out of Columbus, OH) will make his second UVC appearance, as he takes on Marcus Finch (7-6 / fighting out of Cincinnati, OH) in the 185-pound main event. After more than two years out of MMA, Zachrich returned to the cage at UVC 20 in August, where he showed off his grappling skills by defeating highly touted prospect Nick Kraus via unanimous decision. The owner of Ronin Training Center in Columbus, the Ultimate Fighter and Bellator veteran will headline a card in his hometown for just the second time in his career. Coming in looking to play spoiler will be Finch, a product of the Queen City’s Vision MMA who has won his last two bouts via knockout in under a minute apiece. With back-to-back wins over Joshua Franklin and Dustin West, the XFC veteran hopes to make Zachrich his third straight victim.

Dan Sphon

Fighting once again at home in Columbus, light heavyweight Dan “Dragon” Spohn (7-3 / fighting out of Columbus, OH) will welcome Aaron Mays (3-2 / fighting out of Clinton, MO) to the UVC cage for the first time in a co-headlining 205-pound contest. Riddled in a three-fight losing streak, Spohn stepped back into the win column at UVC 22 with a second round submission victory over Rob Morrow in the night’s main event. The first submission for Spohn since his pro debut, the four-time Bellator veteran proved that he is not just the striker that many had pegged him as going into the fight. An imposing figure at 205 pounds, Mays comes in looking to steal a win from the former NAAFS champion in his hometown, as he is out to prove that he belongs with the sport’s elite fighters.

A pair of young and hungry middleweights will start off the night’s professional action, as Matt “Angerfist” Anderson (0-1 / fighting out of Logan, OH) takes on Jeramy Karshner (0-0 / fighting out of Columbus, OH) in a 185-pound contest. Now a member of the North Fitness Center, Anderson will look to even his professional record in his sophomore outing and first in the UVC. After a 6-3 amateur career that saw him claim the ICFA and NFC titles, Anderson dropped his pro debut to Matt DiCenso in February. A three-time UVC veteran as an amateur, Karshner will step into the professional ranks for the first time when he faces Anderson. Now training with Ronin Training Center, Karshner is eager to begin his pro career where he left off as one of Ohio’s top amateur fighters.

Along with five professional bouts, UVC 23 will feature the continuation of the UVC Champions Series, as a new welterweight champion will be crowned, and the bantamweight tournament will continue. Also, tournaments will begin in both the lightweight and light heavyweight divisions en route to crowing new UVC champions for the 2013 season.

Tickets for UVC 23, which begin at just $25, are now available via

Stripper History

Stripper in Daytona, FL

On this day in 1894, the first professional "strip-tease" performance took place in Paris. The act featured a girl stripping to go to bed. Subsequent performances were equally as original; a girl stripping to cool off in the heat, a girl stripping to take a bath and  - a girl stripping while searching for a flea! And believe it or not.......she was the most popular of the strippers.

IGY Nutrition is excited to announce a partnership with Global Proving Ground and Warrior Island!

Global Proving Ground is where elite fighters from all over the world come to get noticed. The organization's #1 goal is to help fighters advance their careers. The GPG board of Martial Arts Masters have over 100 years of experience and these experts are there to guide GPG fighters every step of the way - from securing bouts and sponsorships to providing them with tools to help them successfully build their brand.

GPG is bringing MMA into a new stage with the creation of Warrior Island, a reality T.V show featuring 16 fighters battling to become the ultimate warrior.

IgY Nutrition, LLC is an emerging brand, positioned to take the field of workout recovery and performance gains to a new level. IgY Nutrition's #1 goal is to help athletes dominate their competition by providing products that allow their body's to recover and rebuild after hard workouts faster.

IgY Nutrition's cornerstone product, IgY Recovery Proteins uses a patented egg protein, developed and backed by real scientific research to delve the world's most advanced, safe and legal recovery agent.

This proprietary technology has been used in the field of immunology for over 10 years and is now being made available to athletes. Unlike any other product being sold on the market today, IgY works by partnering directly with your body's own recovery engine - your immune system.

A double blind placebo controlled study was conducted on Hyperimmune Egg Protein, the active ingredient in IgY Recovery Proteins, by Dr. Timothy Scheet, Director of the Human Performance Lab at the University of Southern Mississippi.

The researchers looked at several aspects of Hyperimmune Egg and athletic performance.

A double-blind research study was conducted where the subjects were split into two groups. Each group followed the exact same protocol with the only difference being which product they were given each day.

After just seven days, subjects in the supercharged hyperimmune egg protein group (the ingredient of IgY Recovery Proteins) increased their 1-rep maximum (1RM) by 5 lbs.

The subjects were also able to perform two more repetitions on the bench press than the subjects in the placebo group. The same subjects also had less muscle soreness 24 hours following exercise testing despite being able to lift more weight.
The subjects also had a 9% increase in anaerobic power and a 6% decrease in heart rate during a running test, which indicates that the supercharged hyperimmune egg protein made it easier for the subjects to perform the running test.

Another major finding showed that the same results were measured 48 hours after the previous exercise testing session, which indicated that the supercharged hyperimmune egg protein helped subjects recover more quickly so they could perform more work.

Together, IgY Recovery Proteins and Global Proving Ground offer an unprecedented opportunity to MMA fighters. Through this partnership, MMA fighters will have the chance to show their skills to the world through a global competition and utilize the amazing properties of IgY Recovery Proteins to reach their potential during the competition.
